Citizens Bank donates backpacks and school supplies to Norristown families as part of Gear for Grades initiative

350 new backpacks will be given to ACLAMO for children in need

PHILADELPHIA – On Tuesday, August 26, Citizens Bank volunteers made a special donation as part of its annual Gear for Grades initiative, delivering 350 new backpacks to ACLAMO Family Centers in Norristown. During the event, representatives from ACLAMO accepted the donated school supplies and distribute them to families.

The new, logo-free backpacks are stuffed with school supplies such as pencils, pens, crayons, glue sticks, plastic rulers, erasers, safety scissors and spiral notebooks. The 350 backpacks, made possible through a donation from the Citizens Bank Foundation, are a portion of the 22,000 backpacks distributed to local children in need across Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware before the start of the school year. The backpacks were stuffed by the bank’s colleagues with supplies that were also donated by the bank.
