MaST Community Charter Holds 2014-2015 Admissions Lottery

Over 5,300 Applications Received for 96 Spots

PHILADELPHIA, PA – February 18, 2014 – MaST Community Charter School held its annual lottery to determine admission to its school on Tuesday, February 18 at 4:00 p.m.  5,342 applications were received to fill 96 open spots.  For Kindergarten alone, there were 1,123 applications for 48 available seats.

With its state-of-the-art Library and Media Center along with the growing popularity of its STREAM (Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, Arts, and Math) learning model, MaST has experienced significantly increased demand. The waiting list for the charter school has tripled since 2011.

MaST has the highest 2013 School Performance Profile (SPP) (90) of any independent charter school in Philadelphia for 2013 and ranks in the top 30 schools in PA. Innovation is driving educational learning and well-rounded students as evidenced through a 3D design program that uses 3D printing to bring imagination to life, an HD Video Program where students learn how do real production and filming, a K-12 robotics program including Lego Robotics and Vex Robotics, and a virtual fitness center that helps to emphasize wellness and exercise. In addition, MaST was named the #1 Charter School in Philadelphia by Philadelphia Magazine in 2012.
