Project Home Building New Stephen Klein Wellness Center in North Philadelphia

A Unique Partnership between Stephen Klein, Project HOME, the City of Philadelphia, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, with Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc., and Leigh and John Middleton

PHILADELPHIA, January 29, 2014 – At 21st Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue in North Philadelphia, Project HOME broke ground on the 28,598-square-foot Stephen Klein Wellness Center.  This comprehensive healthcare facility will expand Project HOME’s primary care, behavioral health, and health education services, and will also offer new services, including dental care, physical therapy, pharmacy, and YMCA-managed fitness facility.  In addition, the City of Philadelphia announced plans to complete the block with the construction of a $3 million, 10,000 square foot center for older adults.

The Wellness Center will be located at 21st Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue, in a part of Philadelphia that suffers from high incidence of chronic illnesses, including obesity, asthma, and diabetes.
